How to Beat the Reversi AI
The AI evaluates every position using the same principles strong human players use. Understanding those principles is the fastest way to win more games.
Take every corner immediately. Corners (the four squares at the board’s edges) can never be flipped. The AI will always take a corner when available — so should you.
Avoid X-squares against empty corners. The diagonal squares next to each corner (b2, b7, g2, g7) are traps. Playing one when the adjacent corner is empty gives the AI a free corner next turn.
Keep your disc count low early. Flipping many discs in the first 30 moves is a beginner mistake. Fewer discs means fewer targets for the AI and more flexibility for you.
Start on Easy, move up gradually. Beat Easy 7 out of 10 games before switching to Medium. The jump between levels is significant — rushing to Hard too soon teaches bad habits.
